Contracts
Do I need a contract?
Heaven’s Hands Nanny Research Agency strongly recommends that you sign a contract with your nanny. What this means is that you draw up a contract outlining what the nanny can expect from you and what you can expect from the nanny and both parties sign it. This protects everyone involved. Contracts govern the relationship and also provide a springboard for communication. They usually run for one year and are revised at the end of the year and contain a salary increase. Frequently families will write up an evaluation on the nanny’s performance to go along with the revised contract. The contract is between you, the Employer, and your nanny only. Heaven’s Hands does not play a part in this relationship, only up to the hiring of a nanny. Contracts may be set up however you choose. Many clauses can be included such as the nanny must give you thirty days written notice if she decides to leave, damages be paid if nanny breaches the contract, etc. Nannies often look at contracts as a benefit, showing long term stability with your family.
